How to turn CSV into a Markdown table
- Paste your CSV rows in the box, or choose Open a .csv file, or drop the file on the box.
- Leave Separator on Auto, or pick Comma, Tab or Semicolon.
- Untick First row is the header if your file has no header row.
- Check the count line and the preview against your file.
- Choose Copy Markdown, or Save as .md. Your browser saves the file.

Is my file uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in your browser on your own computer. The page sends nothing about your file anywhere, and nothing is stored or logged.
Is the CSV to Markdown table converter free?
Yes. There is no sign-up and no limit on how many tables you make.
What happens to a pipe, a comma or a line break inside a cell?
A pipe is written as \| so it stays inside its cell. A comma inside a quoted value stays in the value. A line break inside a quoted value becomes a space, because a pipe table row must fit on one line.
What if my rows have different lengths?
Short rows get empty cells at the end. If a row has more cells than the header, the extra columns get headers named Column 4, Column 5 and so on.
How do I check the table against my file?
Read the count line under the buttons. It counts rows with the header included, and data cells as data rows times columns. Count your file the same way and compare the numbers.
