## Subject of this passage

You write an original figurative passage with this prose poem template, using ordinary paragraphs beneath a title. You write the subject's name openly in the opening sentence, then connected comparisons about that subject within a separate .md page.

You write in plain text with Markdown symbols, as described in [a .md file's format](what-is-a-md-file.md).

## Paragraph template anatomy

```markdown
# Write a brief title for the passage
Write a paragraph naming an ordinary subject in the opening sentence and describing it through a comparison.
Write a paragraph extending the comparison through another aspect of the same subject.
```

You write a brief title beside `#`, above the figurative prose.

You write the subject's name in the opening sentence in place of the opening paragraph instruction. You write a comparison about that named subject in the same paragraph.

You write a connected comparison in place of the second paragraph instruction. Beneath this template's title, you write two prose paragraphs without further headings inside the passage.

Per [paragraphs and blank lines](markdown-paragraphs-blank-lines.md), one blank line between two runs of text gives two separate paragraphs; you put one such line between this template's two paragraphs.

## Jane Doe's thread passage

Jane Doe, an invented adult, writes this invented original passage for the sample.

```markdown
# Distance wound small
A spool of thread is a small reserve of distance, a long reach folded into a round handful. Its wound length is a coil of nearness, far ends held beside one another without a knot.
The thread is a narrow measure between edges, a soft bridge with no road upon it. In its slenderness, the gap between two hems has the width of a valley; the spool is that valley curled around an empty center.
```

Within the sample paragraphs, Jane Doe writes about the spool first and the thread second.

## Filename of the passage

You write `thread-prose-poem.md` as this sample's filename. You write hyphens and the .md ending into the name, as in [naming Markdown files](markdown-file-naming.md).

## Where Sashmark fits

As planned, Sashmark will be a desktop program for viewing and editing Markdown. That program is for people who keep AI agent output in .md form. Sashmark remains in development, and no version has come out. A set of such .md files is one sort of material planned for Sashmark.
